Rae N. Leas
July 24, 1940 - April 16, 2008
Rae Leas passed away Wed. April 16, 2008 in Grove, OK. Rae was born in Ada, Oklahoma to Ray and Kathleen (Lowry) Nelms. Rae moved with her family to South Gate, CA where she graduated in 1958 from South Gate High.
On October 3, 1959, she married Todd F. Leas, then moved to Thousand Oaks, CA to start a family.
In 1975, the Leas family moved to Gilroy.
Rae retired from Gilroy Foods in 2001 after 25 years as an Administrative Assistant. In addition to a very fulfilling career, Rae had very fond memories of coworkers; and many lasting friendships.
Rae is survived by her husband Todd of over 48 years; her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Richard Carper of Gilroy; stepmother, Maxine Nelms of Larned, KS; uncle Joe Woolbright of San Diego, CA; cousin, Edwinna Marcum of Phoenix, AZ;
Rae was preceded in death by her son, Randy Todd Leas in 1976.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 under the direction of the Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.
Donations to the American Lung Association are preferred.
