The will of Wigard2 Levering bequeathed "unto my son-in-law William Tunes," a sum of money for which "Samuel Tennis and John Tennis, grandsons of Wigard Levering," receipted on Feb. 13, 1751, which suggests the decease of their father prior to that date. The sons were, doubtless, born after 1720. Why they changed the spelling of their surname is not known. They lived in Towamencin Township, in Philadelphia County, which, in 1784, became a part of Montgomery County, Pa
