Joseph was a prominent figure in helping to establish the town of Londonderry in 1719. He then moved to Killingly, Windham Co., CT, settling in an area called Putnam Heights. About 1740, he moved to Ware, MA.

Joseph married three times: 1) Rachel ________ 2) Mary (Margaret?) ________ 3) Hannah Abbe, m. 17 Nov 1738 in Killingly, CT.
