  General Notes:

"In 1834 settled in Columbiana County where he worked around the farmers also in cider mills. Was much interested in fruit, saw Johnny Appleseed and helped gather apple seeds at a mill either in western Pa. over Ohio line, farmed some. His wife died in 1835, then he married Magadena Lingfelter in 1836, they farmed here for several years and in 1841 got the desire to come to Indiana. Three years in raisaing enough flax to spin and weave the wagon cover 16 x 20 ' to cover their wagon in the late summer of 1845 they left Columbiana." 1
