Sir James Critchon of Frendraught ¹

Sir James Crichton of Frendraught was the son of William Crichton, 3rd Lord Crichton and Marion Livingston.2,3 He married Catherine Borthwick, daughter of William Borthwick, 4th Lord Borthwick and Margaret Hay.1 He died circa 1536.3
On 22 November 1493 he had a Crown charter of the Barony of Frendraught on the resignation of his grandmother, Janet Dunbar.3
