EDWARD, 4th known child of Edward & Mary Elmer, was born about 1654 (aged eleven on 5 May 1665. He married (1) by 1686 probably Rebecca Fitch. He married (2) by 1696 Hannah _____.

* By the Records of the Probate Court at Hartford, it appears that notice was sent to Edward Elmer, March 2, 1712. to take out letters of administration upon the estate of his daughter, Mary Elmer, and Dr. Daniel Hooker, of Weathersfield, was appointed administrator.

An inventory of the Estate of Mary Elmer follows in the book, and will not be transcribed here due to length.

+ All the children of Edward, except Caleb, Amos, Mary, Edward and Ann, were Baptized in the Centre Church, and all except Mary, Hester and Hannah, are mentioned in the distribution of his estate, made May 22, 1727.

++ Hannah married Dec 7, 1733, Thos. Rowell, born Dec 5, 1705; died Oct 28, 1741. She died Aug. 18, 1755.

SOURCE NOTE: Rev. Wm. Johnson states that records were gathered by the Hon. Samuel E. Elmore, President of the Connecticut River Banking Company. Being far advanced in years by 1899, he persuaded Rev. Johnson, who had by this time published several genealogies (David Johnson of Leominster, MA; Thomas Clarke of Plymouth, MA; John Johnson of Ipswich, MA). These records gathered on the Edward Elmer families in the 1850's, having never having published, are sufficient to make a large volume.

Edward married Rebecca Fitch, daughter of Joseph Fitch and Mary Stone. (Rebecca Fitch was born in Massachusetts, USA and died in 1710 in Connecticut, USA.)
