Carper Alma Louise, 68, of Kendallville Manor Nursing Home, died Friday in McCray Hospital. Born in Indianapolis April 5, 1918, she was the daughter of Edwin R. and Ola P. (Stonecypher) Whelan. She had resided in Kendallville approximately 25 years. Surviving are three daughters, Frances Brown of Silver Springs, Fla., Mrs. Nick (Karen) Carunchia of Kendallville, and Theresa McCabe of Poway, Calif., a son, Russell, of Kendallville; a sister, Mrs. Ed (Nancy) Grady of Kendallville; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. One brother, Thomas, preceded her in death. Services will be Tuesday in Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. + 8-20-1987

Alma married Chalmer L. Carper, son of Living and Living. (Chalmer L. Carper was born on 28 Aug 1911 in Auburn, Dekalb County, Indiana, USA, died on 31 Jul 1995 in Dekalb County, Indiana, USA and was buried on 4 Aug 1995 in Lake View Cemetery.)
