hundred living descendants, a considerable number of whom live in
Indiana, Illnois and Missouri.
Thomas Halstead,1723-1806; James; of Orange and Ulster Co.'s N.Y. was
probably a Revolutionary soldier.(Page 35. states that Thomas Hallsted
1723-1806;James ) probably served in Orange Co., MIl., Land Bounty Ri
ghts unit. 2d Reg. He was b. either at Rye or Oyster Bay.,N.Y. but during
the Rev. War lived at Kakiat, and after the war at Haverstraw and New
Paltz, N.Y. He was the father of John Hallsted (1755-1827) and the
great-great-great grandfather of N.E. McIndoo).m. Phebe Margaret Bogardus
and had children;
