Info supplied by Ethel Hard of 1092 N 575 N., Clinton, Utah 84015. 82 -211-0162 shows the year 1635 as his birth and his father is Jonas Halstead and that his fathers residence was Halifax Parish Yorkshire-Info from Long Island Families p 1226 Seversmith. It also shows that Timothy died in March 1702-3 or is that a 1762-3? . Shows that Jonas, Timothy's father died in 1683. Some Descendant of Jonas Halstead (1610-1682) and some allied families compiled and edited by Laura A. After death of Michael, Anne married Henry Pearsall. Timothy Halsted d. in March 1703, In the cenus of Hempstead taken in 1698 Timothy was recorded with his wife and children, Jonas, David and Benjamin. I dwo Ingeage to provid fodder f or the Catell and to loock after them in winter & to provid what fire wood is nedfull for the house also I dwos Ingeage to keep the fence i n Repairs.. & the said Jonas Hallstead is to pay Jeames beat forte sh illings a yeare during the term of three years.. and the said Jeame s beat is to have for his Pains a third part of what Corn and pumkin s that is produced of the land & he is to provid a third part of th e sed... & the said Jonas Hallstead is toprovid & maintain six oxen f or th term and cart and plow & all tacklin nesesaruy .. allso the wid ow's soens is to join the said Jeames for the carrying on of the worke and Jeames beat is to provid what bous and youchs is nedfull for th e oxen & and the said Jonas Hallstead is to provid one hors for Jeame s use.. and he is to have his dyat washing and lodging....The remainder of the records show Jonas Halsteads as one of the owners of both l and and cattle in the several communities in which he lived; as the recorder of an earmark for cattle; as a member of town committees; as a juror, and as a citizen acitively generally in village affairs. It would seem that he was successful, trustworthy and well respected. The identity of Jonas;'s wife, when and where she was born, and when and where they were married are not known. There are no records of her at Hempstead, Oyster Bay or Jamaica. Inasmuch as both her eldest dau. and her sons Timothy's eldest dau were named Sarah, it is to be supposed that her name was Sarah also. one source says that Timothy Sr. Halstead b. 1633 was born in Brumley,Lancashire or Northowram, England. and died March 1702/03 Hempstead, ,Nassau, long Island, N.Y. 5707-1 States Notes for Timothy Halstead. In 1661 Timothy was chosen as one of the townsmen of Hemstead, Long Island.There are a great number of records of his activities as member of town committees, land dealings, law suits and other various enterprises he was connected with. First to Hannah William in 1657 in Hempstead,Nassau, New York, daughter of Ann Parkhurst. and the second time to Abigail Williams in 1685???? Need help here folks 1382-11[thomascarle971-8.FTW] 0941-8 unknown qlerd@kornet.net states in adition to the listed children, there is the possibilty that Hannah and Elizabeth Halstead also belong in this family. Possibly child under 8 was the Hannah Halstead referred to on the sheet form which is material is taken. (What sheet?) m. Hannah Williams daughter of Moyles Williams and Ann No baptismal record is found. Timothy Halstead died in March 1703 at Hempstead, NY. The inventory of his estate was taken 10 March 1703 (1702-1703) and administration of the effects was granted to the olest sonTimothy. He was buried prob. in Hempstead.
