Jonas Gibbs

  General Notes:

They called him "Jonas SR." because his son was named Jonas JR. as well as his father- also, Jonas Gibbs (1740-1822).


Jonas was the son of Jonas Gibbs (1740-1822) & Sarah Townsend (1741-1819). He married Rachel Daniel (1789-1848) on a date, so-far, unknown to me. Jonas and Rachel had at least 8 children, to include: Boadiasa (Boe) Gibbs (b1815), who married Mathias Dean on 18 February 1832 in Sandusky Co. Ohio. Mathias is a Great uncle of mine that I am trying hard to get more info. on! Mathias was near his father-in-law Jonas for almost everything, everywhere - I would suspect even buried near-bye !! Jonas married Rachel Jane Daniels in Apr 1807 in Elizabeth Town, Essex County, New York, USA. (Rachel Jane Daniels was born on 26 Jul 1789 in Essex County, Massachusetts, USA and died on 17 Jun 1853 in Sandusky County, Ohio, USA.)
