Roth Funeral Is Held Saturday at Zion Reformed
The funeral of Herman John Roth, who died last Wednesday, was held Saturday at 1:30 from Martin's funeral home, and at 2 from Zion Reformed church. The Rev. Mr. E.L. Hennig officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Roth, who had lived in Waukon the last four years, had been in poor health for a year.
He was born Feb. 12, 1876 in Lansing township, Allamakee county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Roth. He had lived in Allamakee county all his life.
Mary Osterholz became his bride in Ludlow township February 4, 1903. She remains as do their children, Harold Roth of Chicago, and Leona, now Mrs. William Sherman of Waukon. Mr. Roth was the last remaining member of his immediate family, in which there were seven children. He had been educated in the local schools, and farmed until he retired four years ago.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Leo Promnitz, Albert Bahr, Leslie Kerndt, Howard Grimm, Ed Martens, and Everett Leas.


Everett married Cecil May. (Cecil May was born about 1894 3.)
