Hiram H. Slaybaugh, former county treasurer of DeKalb County, died at his home just west of Auburn on Wednesday afternoon of last week of acute Brights disease. He was 75 years of age and had been ill for two months. He was born in Smithfield township and attended the Waterloo schools, and also the Waterloo normal school conducted by the late James A Barnes then county superintendent. He was married to Ada Gonser, daughter of the late Daniel Gonser on Oct. 29, 1876. She died on May 30, 1924. Mr. Slaybaugh served two terms as treasurer of this county, from Jan. 1, 1907.


Hiram married Ada Gonser, daughter of Daniel Gonser and Unknown, on 29 Oct 1876. (Ada Gonser was born in 1855 in Holmes County, Ohio, USA, died on 30 May 1924 and was buried in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield Center, Dekalb County, Indiana, USA.)
