Died of His Injuries
Last Friday morning the seventeen-year-old son of Hiram Slaybaugh, residing near Indian lake in DeKalb county, while in his father's barn fell a distance of three feet, alighting upon the handle of a pitchfork. The handle entered the body and tore the bowels in a fearful manner. Dr. Rudolph of Corunna, Dr. W S. Williams of this city, and Dr. Barnett of Fort Wayne, performed an operation Saturday evening to relieve the suffering of the young man, but on account of the torn condition of the bowels their labor was fruitless. death relieved the sufferer this morning - Kendallville Sun.
