GERALD POER

Gerald F. Poer, 63, Eckhart Avenue, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in DeKalb Memorial Hospital of a heart attack.

He was born Aug. 8, 1908, in Indiana to Jacob and Edith (Frazee) Poer. He married Rosa O. Shippy in Crown Point, Dec. 24, 1927. She survives.

Mr. Poer was a retired farmer. He formerly operated a barber shop in Corunna and Waterloo. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Fort Wayne.

Also surviving are a son, Meredith V. Poer, Wabash; five brothers, Lowell, Kendallville; Jean and Tom, Crown Point; Max, Connecticut; and Junior, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Butch, Bargersville and Mary Jane; and three grandchildren. A brother, Lyle, preceded him in death.

Mr. Poer was a member of First Christian Church, Garrett, where the Rev. Frank Lillie will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Corunna Cemetery.

Friends may call in Graffis Funeral Home, Waterloo, from 2 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.
