William Henry Leas Sr.
September 12, 1917 - March 2, 2002

William Henry Leas Sr. of Souderton, Pennsylvania passed away of natural causes on Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Grandview Hospital. He was 84 years old. William was born September 12, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Jesse Clyde Leas and the late Elsie U. Leas (nee - Hoerr).

He graduated from Abington High School in 1935. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1937, served on the U.S.S. Hughes, and was honorably discharged in 1941. Mr. Leas was a veteran of Foreign Wars.

William wed Alma Mahan of Willow Grove, on August 29, 1941. After a short time living in Hatboro, William and Alma moved to Willow Grove where they raised their family and lived for 57 years before moving to Hidden Springs in Souderton in 2000.

Mr. Leas was employed by the Fischer and Porter Company of Warminiser for 40 years as a tool designer. He received his diploma from Pennsylvania State University in 1962.

Mr. Leas enjoyed many activities including travel, computers, golf, sporting events, reading, working around his home and yard, and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, and father who will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alma; Three children, Wilma and her husband Norman Edgar Pengelly, William H. Leas Jr. and his wife April, and Donald W. Leas; Grandchildren Norman, Andrew, Laura, Timothy and Matthew; Great - Grandchildren Julie and Sarah; and sister Bertha Johnston.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service, Thursday 1:00 PM at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 North Easton Road, Willow Grove where friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

Interment Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

The family requests that in Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church 405 North Easton Road Willow Grove, Pa. 19090.
