LEAS
John C. Leas, 82, Warsaw, Route 2, a retired state highway department employee, died at 8 p.m. Saturday in Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville.
Born Aug. 24, 1892, in Coshocton County, he was a son of Finley and Martha McCurdy Leas. He was married Dec. 3, 1914, to the former Bernice Perkins, who survives. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last December.
Mr. Leas was a charter member of Tunnel Hill Grange.
Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Miss Marcella Leas of Cincinnati and Mrs. Cecil (Ruth) Hardesty of Coshocton; three sons, Wayne of Coshocton, Rolland, Dresden Route 1, and Donis of Detroit, Mich.; four grandchildren; great-grandchild and two brothers, Harry and Hayden Leas, both of Akron. One son is deceased.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fischer Funeral Home, Warsaw, in charge of the Rev. Herb Zuercher and Rev. Don Sprague. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
Visitation hours at the funeral home will be 7 to 9 p.m. today.
